Ain Dubai: The Tallest Ferris Wheel in the World

"Life is like a Ferris wheel. One minute you're on top, the next you're at the bottom.
Just stay in your seat, enjoy the ride, and hang on until you reach the top again."
-Susan Gale-

Major cities nowadays are building their own Ferris wheels to attract more tourists and to showcase the world how rich and grand they are. Some famous wheels include the High Roller in Las Vegas, Singapore Flyer in state-city of Singapore, and London Eye in the UK. Behold, Dubai is building their very own wheel named Ain Dubai and to put all the previous wheels to shame, they intend it to be at least 210-meters tall thus claiming the crown as the world's tallest Ferris wheel.

Built on a man-made island called Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai will be the centerpiece of the project which will offer future visitors a stunning 360-degree view of Dubai skyline as well as the Persian Gulf. Reports have it that aside from the wheel, the island will feature entertainment, retail, residential and hospitality offerings.

Ain Dubai will have 48 high-tech, double-glazed passenger capsules that can accomodate up to 40 people (Wow!). I've read an article that says some of the capsules will be private ‘fine dining’ rooms that seat up to 12 guests. I mean, seriously? And if that doesn't  entice you enough, six of the capsules will have a licensed bar so you can have a tipple during your trip. Cheers!

I initially planned to just go swimming in Jumeirah but I realized it would be nice to have a glimpse of the ongoing construction of the wheel. It is now halfway done and is truly a sight to behold already. This will surely add to the long list of iconic landmarks in Dubai such as the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab. There is no stopping Dubai from realizing ambitious projects which other cities or countries find impossible.

How to get there?
Take the Metro Red Line and get off at DAMAC Properties station. From there you can take the Tram and get off at either Jumeirah Beach Residence 1 or 2 but if you have strong legs like me, you can actually walk from DAMAC, pass through Dubai Marina and go towards the beach.
