"A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent." While there's a lot of Starbucks out there each offering the same coffee, as far as location and view are concerned, no one offers a view so panoramic, heavenly, dreamy and divine that is Starbucks Domicillo Hotel. Imagine sipping your favorite Chocolate Cream Chip Frappucino overlooking the ethereal Taal Volcano, how dope must that be? Today me and my friend decided to have a quick one-day-only getaway to escape stress in the nearby Tagaytay City. Adulting can be very tiring so we both needed to replenish before we get consumed by exhaustion. A friend of mine recommended this new Starbucks and upon seeing pictures online, I died. The superb view is something poets would draw inspiration! The exterior looks so mundane and quite appalling at some point. Inside is just another Starbucks with tables and chairs and couches and as go further, Taal is already waving at you and i...
You've heard it in the news, the new Manila Mayor is on a mission to bring back the glory of the city. Glorious enough to be the country's capital and seat of power. To begin with, they have to clean it's own backyard first. The Bonifacio Shrine is only a stone's throw away from the city hall and has been one of the city's landmark to receive a massive makeover.
The shrine is one of the most recognizable spot in Manila. It's size, the sculptures, and message it conveys are just so amazing. But it's dull and something is lacking. Well, not anymore. The local government has plans in store for the monument and I guess this time it will be worthy of admiration and fit for Bonifacio who is the Father of Philippine Revolution.
Before when I was still new to Manila, I never knew that there is park behind this monument as it was filled with vendors and illegal settlers all claiming the public space as their own. Nowadays, it's now serving it's purpose as a park where everyone can sit and relax under it's shady trees.

Works are underway to make this park more appealing to the public. The city government of Manila is indeed doing a great job, isn't it?
How to get there?
From Quiapo, hop on to a jeepney that will pass by Manila City Hall and just tell the driver to drop you off there. You can also take the LRT1 and get off at Central Station. The shrine is few minutes walk away.
