FEATURE STORY

Starbucks Domicillo Design Hotel

"A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent." While there's a lot of Starbucks out there each offering the same coffee, as far as location and view are concerned, no one offers a view so panoramic, heavenly, dreamy and divine that is Starbucks Domicillo Hotel. Imagine sipping your favorite Chocolate Cream Chip Frappucino overlooking the ethereal Taal Volcano, how dope must that be? Today me and my friend decided to have a quick one-day-only getaway to escape stress in the nearby Tagaytay City. Adulting can be very tiring so we both needed to replenish before we get consumed by exhaustion. A friend of mine recommended this new Starbucks and upon seeing pictures online, I died. The superb view is something poets would draw inspiration! The exterior looks so mundane and quite appalling at some point. Inside is just another Starbucks with tables and chairs and couches and as go further, Taal is already waving at you and i...

Camel, the King of the Desert, embraces modernization

If a tiger is the king of the jungle, then camel is the king of the desert. Camels thrived in the desert thousands of years ago. When I've visited the Dubai Museum, I've learned that Dubai can be dated back 5000 years ago. We can assume that camels had been in this city for such a long time.        While enjoying the emerald waters of Jumeirah Beach, there are two camels which passes which I believe offers swimmers for a paid ride. One camel is ridden by what seems to be an Arab man dressed in a kandoura. Then the other one is for everyone who wants to ride. The scene is too beautiful not to take a photo of it. An old animal, from an old city, wandering around the now modern city of Dubai, is embracing the modernization.

Live Outside the Box and go to the BoxPark

I often heard the saying "live outside the box" during my younger years . Back then I had no idea what it means. Growing up I realized that we should live life outside of the conventional norms, we should live outside the boundaries. It's simply living your life to the fullest and like what this blog is all about, life is ephemeral. And talking about boundaries, Dubai never run out of out of the box and even out of this world  concept and ideas. One of the newest attraction in the city is the BoxPark: an outdoor concept by Meraas primarily made of shipping containers that are artistically integrated into a unique retail and dining hub.            Breathing new life to the city, BoxPark's unique architecture has captured the attention of passers-by through the art of its vibrant containers especially at night time. Just the idea of turning shipping containers into a work of art had me fell in love with this ...

Rediscovering Dubai, UAE: Al Fahidi Fort - Dubai Museum

Today I decided to do some cultural exploration amidst the bustling city of Dubai. Behind its towering skyscrapers, lies the oldest existing building in Dubai - the Al Fahidi Fort. It was built in 1787, some 229 years ago, located in the present Bur Dubai.        The late Sheikh Saeed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum chose the historic Al Fahidi Fort to be Dubai's Museum in honour of his ancestors. In 1971 he laid the foundation stone for the museum, thus continuing the development of Dubai's progress. Facade of Dubai Museum        The wooden gate of Al Fahidi Fort leads to halls containing a wealth of displays and exhibits which bear witness to the rich history of Dubai. Beyond the courtyard, the north wing shows the history of the Emirate and the fort. The ancient cannon in the northeast tower has been there since the tower was built. The military section is housed in the south wing of the fort, where old weaponry and ...

Sheikh Zayed Road: The Beating Heart of Dubai

I am fond skyscrapers the way how they are built, the way how they soar up in the sky and the way they made up a striking a city skyline. My blog entitled  Skyscrapers of Dubai   is about famous and head-turning buildings in Dubai that every one should know about.        I just want to make an entry about the skyscrapers alog Sheikh Zayed Road, the main road of Dubai where most offices and headquarters of local and international companies can be found. I say it's the beating heart of the city because it is where most trades are executed. It is where thousands of people passes through daily. A view from the World Trade Center        Seen on the photo above is the elevated ralway of the Metro red line. Most stations are situated strategically along the Sheikh Zayed Road. Getting around the city is easy. Emirates Towers Dusit Thani DAMAC Towers Rose Tower Burj Khali...
